Privacy policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Sail & Sees, a brand operated by Nexbiz Ventures, a registered sole proprietorship in British Columbia, Canada (collectively the “Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit and use www.sailandsees.com, subscribe to our newsletter, interact with our content, or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the “Services”). For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “you” and “your” means you as a visitor, subscriber, or other individual whose information we collect.

Sail & Sees is a cruise travel content website. We publish destination and port guides and related travel articles, offer an email newsletter, and include affiliate links to third-party travel partners. We do not currently sell products or process payments through this Site.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. This Privacy Policy works alongside our Terms of Service.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised version on the Site, update the “Last updated” date above, and take any further steps required by applicable law.

What Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Site. When we use the term “personal information,” we mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be associated with you.

Information you provide directly to us. This may include:

  • Contact and subscription details such as your email address (and any name you provide) when you sign up for our newsletter.

  • Communications you send us, for example through our contact form, including any information you choose to include.

  • Feedback and submissions if we offer features that let you submit ratings, reviews, comments, or other content. If you choose to use such a feature, we collect what you submit.

You can choose not to provide this information, but some features may not be available to you if you do not.

Information we collect automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information (“Usage Data”) using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. Usage Data may include your device and browser type, IP address, general location inferred from your IP address, referring pages, the pages and links you interact with, and similar information about how you use the Site.

We do not currently collect payment information, billing or shipping addresses, or account login credentials, because we do not sell products, process payments, or offer user accounts on this Site at this time. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Send you our newsletter and related emails that you have subscribed to, and manage those subscriptions.

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site, including understanding how visitors use our content so we can make it more useful.

  • Provide advertising and measure its performance, including showing you relevant advertising on the Site and on other websites and platforms, and understanding the effectiveness of that advertising.

  • Respond to you when you contact us or submit feedback.

  • Protect the Site and our users, including detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent, illegal, or malicious activity, and securing the Services.

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies (“Cookies”) to operate and improve the Site. We use them to remember your preferences, to run analytics and understand how the Site is used, and to support advertising. We work with third-party providers, such as analytics and advertising partners, who may set their own Cookies through our Site.

Because the Site is hosted on Shopify, certain Cookies are set by the platform. For information about Shopify’s cookies, see https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Most browsers accept Cookies by default, but you can usually set your browser to remove or reject them. Some browsers and devices offer privacy controls or opt-out signals. Where applicable law requires us to respond to such signals, we will do so. Removing or blocking Cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

Affiliate Links

Sail & Sees participates in affiliate programs with third-party travel companies. Some links on the Site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and book or buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

When you click an affiliate link, the third-party partner or network may set Cookies and collect information about that click and your subsequent activity on their site. This activity takes place on the partner’s website and is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit through our links. For more about our affiliate relationships, see the Affiliate Disclosure section of our Terms of Service.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may, however, share it with the following categories of recipients to operate the Services:

  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers (such as Shopify), which support and power the Site.
  • Our email service provider, which delivers and manages our newsletter and email communications on our behalf.
  • Analytics providers (such as Google Analytics), which help us understand how the Site is used.
  • Advertising and social media partners (such as Meta), which help us deliver and measure advertising on the Site and on other platforms.
  • Affiliate networks and partners, when you interact with affiliate links, as described above.
  • Professional advisors and other service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as IT, security, or analytics support.
  • Authorities and other parties where required, for example to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, protect the rights, property, or safety of Sail & Sees or others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale of assets.

Each third party uses the information it receives in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Our use of advertising and analytics Cookies (for example, advertising or social media pixels) may be considered “selling” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out of this activity by adjusting your Cookie settings, using an opt-out signal where supported, or contacting us using the details below.

Third-Party Websites and Links

The Site contains links to websites and platforms operated by third parties, including our affiliate partners and other resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of those sites. When you follow a link to a third-party site, you should review its own privacy policy and terms. Our inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement beyond what we state on the Site.

Children’s Data

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. As of the “Last updated” date above, we do not knowingly “sell” or “share” the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

Security and Retention

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We recommend that you do not use insecure channels to send us sensitive information.

How long we retain your personal information depends on why we collected it, for example to manage your newsletter subscription, to respond to your inquiries, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights are not absolute and may apply only in certain circumstances.

  • Access / Know: request access to the personal information we hold about you and how we use and share it.
  • Delete: request that we delete personal information we hold about you.
